I was commissioned to make a 3D model of Forever Alone Guy. The goal was for it to be printed and sold.
The base mesh was made in Modo, I sculpted it in ZBrush and I retopologized the model in Topogun.

If you're not familiar with the meme, take a look here.

Here you can see a photo of the printed model.

He looks really nice, I had never heard of this unitl just last week when I saw it on one of my students T-shirts.
My only coment is a technical question. I have not used Modo yet I am just now starting it, but I am an advanced modeler in Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, and Zbrush. It seems to me if you were to learn more about Zbrush's creation tools like ZSphere modeling, Zsphere Sketching, Or the new Dynamesh in the lastest version of Zbrush 4 2Rb you could have saved yourself some time jumping all around. You can also retopoogize in Zbrush as well as Unwrapp the UVs and texture. Just some food for thought. There are may videos on youtube if you want to learn about the things, I have suggested or you can send me an email and I can make one for you. Keep doing great work.

Hi Gil, and thanks for the comment. The workflow I used is actually a very efficient one. I spent 10 minutes making an OK basemesh in modo which I could then use in Zbrush and have all the necessary info. That said, if I were to do it again, I would've used dynamesh, but this was before dynamesh was released to the public. Zspheres are fine and I use them a lot, particularly full characters, but for heads, I feel I have far more control doing a base mesh in modo.

You can definitely retopo in Zbrush, but I find it to be an extremely tedious process, and topogun is a very efficient app for retopo. I really dont mind switching apps like I do here, as it's far, far more efficient than doing everything in Zbrush.

Regarding uvs, I always make my uvs in Modo and ZBrush these days, as I think that's a very efficient way to do it. I actually have two tuts out on the subject.

I've been using Zbrush for 6 years now, and I feel pretty comfortable in it, so all my choices were based on what I found to be the most efficient at the time.

Again, thanks for your comment :) I'd be happy to answer any other questions.

You should do that for the Trollface... I bet there'd be ton of people wanting to buy one of those, especially if you could actually get a mask made from it.. :icontrollfaceplz:
I, myself, would enjoy a plastic trollface mask thats 3D xD
